I don't think it has anything to do with the production either. It's just an easy excuse. Brass tacks... the new songs just aren't as good.

"Belong" (the track) is good but it rapidly slides downhill after that for me.

There is nothing on the album as strong as the likes of "Come Saturday", "Young Adult Friction", etc. Not by a long chalk.

I'll have to check out those Hobbes Fanclub... See if they're as good as you say they are Tom.

After several plays my view is that Belong is pretty poor. Maybe 4 or 5 out of 10 if I am generous.

Apart from the New Order-ish My Terrible Friend not one track stood out for me and the ones towards the end are the worst I have heard the band produce. Even the title track whcih I am not fond of stands head and shoulders above the likes of Too Tough and Strange. I feel like I have been dumped!
