"Virtue is its own reward" is a useful corrective for people who think they should always receive a tangible benefit from good deeds (or that they should only do good to receive a reward). But it's a mistake to turn that into an inflexible piece of dogma.

The truth of the matter is we are prepared to help others without receiving or expecting a return, but only up to a point (I'm assuming there are no saints among us). If someone continuously takes advantage of another's help without offering anything in return then that's the very definition of selfishness and some form of censure is in order. The most common form is stopping the helpful behaviour that was being abused. The next most common is shelling the other person, ignoring all pleas for a cease-fire.

Anyway, making lots of tea for B and expecting to get the odd cuppa in return isn't really expecting a reward - it's expecting to be treated like a human being rather than a hot drinks machine.

"Don't bother about it, it's just a cup of tea" is fine in theory, but doesn't play too well in practice - like it or not, these things do bother most of us; treating others with respect (eg, by making them the odd cuppa) and receiving respect in return is a pretty basic part of social interaction. We're very sensitive to this sort of thing. Maybe we wish we could rise above it, but trying to do that usually just results in bottling things up which, frankly, is far worse than confrontation.

As for Johnny Alzheimers (sorry - Anarchy), he's obviously caught some nasty disease from the livestock on his farm.

The thing about Person B's is that they do tend to be right, if boil down being right to the bare essentials...

PERSON A: Isn't it a bit rude you don't make me a cup of tea?
PERSON B: Well you were going to make yourself one so it makes sense to make me one too...

Yes, that IS right in terms of being analytically correct in the most boring and righteous sense, BUT THAT IS NOT THE POINT! There's a difference between being right and acting in a considered manner within social context! The former has little merit in itself, but the latter goes further than Person B could ever possibly imagine...
