Did Warwick the Kingmaker look like the Artful Dodger too or was that just Kingmaker?
Just to let people know that the reason for doing this is to have a station that is as hip and happening as the site. We want to promote good music from artists who don't get the exposure that their talent deserves and we want to make the site as up to date as possible.
So when deciding on suggestions, please bear those points in mind. Older material is OK if there's a rationale for it (e.g. a reissue, someone dies) but generally we should aim for stuff released in the last 6 months or so. That's not to criticise older things but we can cover those in other ways. We've adopted Bola's suggestion of themed programmes: maybe Creation records, Swedish pop, Northern Soul and ska/reggae.
We've got a system for sifting demos so we can feature more of them, which will be nice. And the eds plus Kingmaker will check that the playlist has a consistency that reflects the site. Hopefully, that'll meet everyone's needs!
