Here is another one for ya after Kev posted Ceremony (Joy Division/New Order) in the Classic A Day Thread.

Name the band and the bands whose original record it was.

Thieves Like Us (New Order) so here's a couple of vids. They do some excellent cover art and recently moved from Shelflife Records to Captured Tracks.

Starsailor (after Tim Buckley I think)

Lightning Seeds are named after a misheard line in a Prince song.

Radiohead are named after a Talking Heads song.

Shit there are loads of these. Mental block.

There's a band called Vapour Trail (after the Ride song) but they're not that well known.

The Ordinary Boys were named after The Smiths.

Death Cab For Cutie took their name from the Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band. Sisters of Mercy was also a Leonard Cohen song. And Ladytron are named after the Roxy Music song.
