Well at least he won't have to worry about flying as Swansea won't be qualifying for Europe...
Nah could be a good call but difficult to tell as he's not managed before. |

Crikey indeed. I just noticed his name was trending on twitter but I didn't look why. That must be it. Has he managed before? |
Currently Assistant Manager at Ajax. I said our chairman tends to pick less obvious choices. |
Yeah he was on the phone to me yesterday but I politely declined. I'm waiting for the Hereford United job to come up. _________________ REVOLUTION PURITY LOVE SUICIDE ACCURACY

I think that's a risk that Swansea are happy to take. I was happy with Jones (who hadn't managed before) and I'd be happy with Bergkamp too - as you know both of those would buy into the way the squad play and we'd have minimum squad disruption....
The not flying thing is a bit odd, but it's not a deal breaker. |

It's alright, if Ferguson can buy a tramp off Youtube for millions then it's the way to do deals these days... |

It's crass, but no more so than various changes over the years - Revie making Leeds all white to ape Real Madrid etc etc.
The game hasn't so much changed in recent years as been magnified. _________________ Embrace the margin |

A fair few Cardiff fans that I know are not going back to watch the team until they revert to their traditional blue kit. Their nickname hardly works now, does it?
I'd be pissed off if my team changed colours. |

That's a bit more of a palatable reason than to make a team more sellable to lucrative foreign markets though...
But still, every time something like this happens it merely reminds me of how naive I am to still cling to the idea that, somewhere, football still has a soul... |

No. Not really. Changing to red might be misguided but it at least has a logic and isn't just mental.
Football has little, if any, less soul today than it ever did. Instead of red-faced local businessmen (or blazered local dignitaries) on ego-trips it's now run by sharp-dressed international businessmen on ego-trips. The net result is pretty much the same, just scaled up a bit. _________________ Embrace the margin

Orient used to play in Blue and now play in Red. Still the nickname of the O's didn't really matter.

Palace play in red and blue to be like Barcelona - Malcolm Allison's plan to add some glamour to South London. They were claret and light blue before that.
It does seem worse though with Cardiff because even their nickname is blue related. |

M Vairelles has been using his time out on bail to record an album apparently. I confidently predict a new low in football/music relations...

| In other news, does anyone on this board see Norwich going down under Hootun? Either way, the sooner Holt goes the better. He's dug his own grave at Norwich, which is a shame. |

Norwich would have gone down with Lambert at the helm if you ask me so... 2nd season syndrome and all that.
Still, can't think of a better possible appointment than Hughton for you all things considered. He's done a marvellous job at Birmingham this season in horrible circumstances, but there's always a risk he'll bring Marlon King with him... |

I can see them going down under anyone really (barring Wenger, Fergie or someone taking over). They'll need a replacement for Holt or they're buggered. They won't improve on this season. I'm not saying they're definitely go down but they'll be in the mix until the final couple of games. _________________ REVOLUTION PURITY LOVE SUICIDE ACCURACY
