As a taster for their forthcoming debut album out on Sounds eXPerience we present Rosy by Dead Models, a free download single.

Alas the Dead Models have now split up so no LP on way. It'll have to join the list of lost classics.

Still, enjoy the great Rosy.

Is the label defunct now or can we release the new Sad Day for Puppets album?

Pretty much defunct. It's a nightmare to release anything as there are hardly any shops left to send the CDs to so you end up having to do it all yourself via Amazon Marketplace and eBay. And much as I like SDfP they're Swedish and don't gig over here often so there's no obvious spur to kickstart interest..

They'll release it on Ha Ha Fonogram anyway so will be able to get some UK exposure through that, but it's looking like Sonic Cathedral won't be taking care of the UK release like normal (funding problems) so a UK outlet would be handy. It's as much a case of promotion as anything else I think.

There are a few things I'd like to give a UK release to actually so I'll be pimping some stuff out to labels in the next couple of months in the unlikely event to know of any that are looking to add to their roster...?

By the way - SDFP might have other stuff planned anyway, I haven't spoken to them for a couple of months. They were aiming for an album later in the summer.

Good thinking batman. I'll see what the plans are for the new album and sort one out for then. Maybe a free album giveaway?

I'll have a word this week then and get a progress report to maybe stick in the news section.

I'm trying to sort an interview with Christine Leakey at the mo. She's one of the most interesting artists I've found this year. Reviewed her solo album recently and it's this kind of magical dreamy folk-pop but then a few years ago she was fronting a psych/garage band. A talented lady. In fact I think I want to marry her. I probably won't ask in the interview though...
