Hello all, I'm Rick and I'm a student layabout. I'm currently laying about in Ecuador where I've been studying for a year, then back to the glamorous surroundings of Birmingham in August to finish my Spanish degree. But not before travelling South America for 3 months Very Happy .

I love football and am a book and music geek. I like indie, rock, punk, folk and even a bit of metal now and then. I also love "Apple Bottom Jeans".

AlbyBeliever comes from my favourite footballer, who was much maligned and at times I seemed to be the only Stockport fan who actually liked him. So there. I'm from near Stockport but say that I'm from Manchester because a) Most people I tell don't know where Stockport is and b) The ones that do back away slowly while fumbling for their gas mask/taser.

I look like Shaggy. That is all.

I’m Ged, Johnny Anarchy on the site (which is a very inappropriate moniker). Co-edit site with Paul/BJ. Parents are Irish and my mother went back to Omagh to give birth to me, although from age 2 weeks to 18 I was brought up in Morecambe in Lancs (I did meet Eric Morecambe at a shop opening there as well). Support Burnley FC, live in Bromley, love music, film, books etc. Have catholic taste but garage-rock would be my desert island choice if I could have only one genre of music. I’m increasingly feeling that technology constrains rather than facilitates communication so would have preferred this webzine to be scribed on parchment by monks and read out by town-cryers.

I'm Pete, Wurzel was my first nickname at school thanks to my uncontrollably shit and Worzel Gummidge-like hair...these days it's less scarecrow and more, well, just dying.
Born in South London, now living in East London, support Spurs, and I've got a degree in Film - so naturally I work in the Railway industry.

PoisonIvy, after the Cramps' guitarist.

Born in the USA. Now live in East London.

Have known SXP for many years now, mainly through sending Bovine Juice and Johnny Anarchy records and CDs to review. Didn't meet in person till fairly recently, and it took even longer to sign up to the forums. The lure was a thread on French 60s girl pop, which I LOVE, along with most 60s music, particularly garage rock. I am also partial to 70s glamrock, punk, post-punk, and early new wave, though I get lost around the Human League.

Coming into this century, I love stuff like The Horrors (1st and 2nd albums), Deerhunter, Animal Collective, Of Montreal, Future of the Left, Caribou, Death Cab For Cutie... you get the idea. I must surpress the urge to vom when I hear most things twee, and 80s revival bollocks like Ladyhawke and La Roux.

I promote music on t'internet for a living, and for fun, run a club night, DJ a lot, and play guitar in an all-girl band.

New album's a corker unsurprisingly. (If you preorder from 4AD via the FotL site they let you have the mp3s now, which is how I've got it).

Hello btw. Agree re revials. There was a lot of good stuff in the 80s, but also plenty that we lived through so others wouldn't have to - unfortunately some of the yoof will never learn...

Hi

I'm Alex and I run an internet radio station called Folk Radio UK ( http://ww.folkradio.co.uk )...we run two streams, one is called Frukie. That stream is my reason for joing here...it's more alternative and indie than folk to be honest...genres can be a pain in the ass...

Anyway, thought it was about time I dropped by to say hi and thanks for a great site!

Hope to stick around and join in rather than be a one hit wonder!

Cheers

Hi frukie - good you've got a real reason. Bovine's been in the south west all week and I thought he'd been using his old reprogramming tricks to recruit new cult - sorry - board members.

Do stick around - just don't drink the Kool-aid

Hello Alex, I am really impressed by the twists and turns that folk radio have been involved in - Love the work done to the site. It's really impressive. If you need any more interview tips Wink look my way. Unfortunately though I am not as active on the interview or review front at the moment as I have lost internet connection and phone line at home due to poverty. I hate poverty.

Look forward to annoying people on here, too Smile

Too much competition in South London. Almost nobody likes indie music in the South West!

It's funny when you go to other areas and rummage through their record shops. My trips down to Poole to see family remind me why I was bucking the trends down there with my interest in punk and new wave as the shops are full of old rock and prog vinyl.

Room for a little one? Oh yes, ANOTHER invitee from the now defunct TIAV!

I write and record my own music, and release it and other bits and pieces via a little "micro-label" I run called Spanner Records.

I love lots of different types of music, but my own stuff is probably most influenced by what I would think of as the best of the c86 era janglers - The Wedding Present, The June Brides, and The Mighty Lemon Drops.

I live in Watford (have added that to my profile now).

That would be Watford, famous for Elton John, George Michael, Geri Halliwell, and the singer from Gene (although he was Welsh). But, you can't knock Gallows!
