Yay Guillemots are there! See folks, I was right all along...

Still I hope they don't win it. Give it Arctic Monkeys or Muse and then the Mercury Curse might strike and they can go away and leave us all alone.

Also nice to see Isobel Campbell and Editors there. Is it wrong that I'm actually quite interested on who's on the list?

I actually like the Mercury prize. I think that its decided by a clique of wanky high-brow “musicologists” actually makes it a GOOD think, if only because (unlike stuff voted by “Daily Star readers”, for example) you get some interesting winners ..

When they go for something unusual they quite often get it wrong (that fat ponce last year) but occasionally get it right (Roni Size);

However, I agree with the previous poster re: Guillemots. That album could have been made with the Mercury Music prize in mind…
