Well, I'm sure I'd feel much worse if I weren't under such heavy sedation.

Having done 15 years of 30 a day (from 2 seconds after opening eyes in the morning to last thing at night), I see both sides. And I can confirm that the following is true;

1. You don't realise how much you, and your breath, really, really do stink until you don't do it anymore. It's unbelievable.

2. Life is ok without them.

3. It doesn't look cool - you look pathetic.

4. 4 years after giving up, I still want one. Now. But I won't. I'll start again when I'm 60.

That was me, by the way. And look - the one called Cavey and I both said 'I'd be furious!'.

No one gives a toss about staff who work in bars, clubs etc. One dies a week because of passive smoking but do smokers care? Do they feck the selfish arsewipes. They shouldn't work in those places is the answer thus denying the mainly working class a right to find employment.

Cavey's point about cars is a valid one. The government should be investing in non-polluting alternatives but will not do so as they love the VAT. As for beer you can argue that you don't have to breath in a drinkers beer fumes. However with all the violence associated with it this opens another (beer) can of worms.

When I were a nipper there were regular family gatherings with my parents, grandparents, and aunt & uncle. They all smoked and I hated it. Adults don't realise the effect smoking has on their kids, not just health issues, it's bloody unpleasant. My dad was finished off by ciggies (lung cancer) and died on Christmas day, so it's always a bit of an odd time.
