I actually gave a few seconds of a couple of other versions a blast. The Diamonds one sounds OK, but not as good as this. Fairly similar but the vocal style isn't as good.

Herman's Hermits - It was a TV recording so maybe not the best quality sound. But them grinning their way through a sped up version seemed at odds with the non grinnable nature of the song. It's not a smiley happy tune!

Remember me & Trev both picking their London gigs of 2009 as the best gigs of the year. The album is great, live they were phenomenal; Dave drumming, dancing, staring and playing the organ all at the same time is truly a sight to behold. The fact that the music surpassed even Dave's performance and charisma really says something about how good they were.
Anybody know what happened to them?
