Yet people get criticised for hiding their sexuality and being homophobic (as we've just seen at the athletics) and he was flying the flag for the gays without even being one! Good on him I say! Plus they kind of prided themselves on being androgynous an having an openly gay member (Simon Gilbert) in those days.

Bowie's sexuality is pretty well documented, Anderson claimed to be "a bisexual who has never had a homosexual experience". Maybe I'm wrong, but those sound to me (& presumably Mambo Taxi) to be the words of a poseur. The era of Brit Pop, Loaded etc certainly heralded a return to a loathsome macho culture and resisting that is fine, but I still think Anderson was a poseur and a desperate Bowie wannabe. Just my opinion.

Anderson was vocally a huge Bowie fan, but in style I don't think he was. His acted and dressed differently. Suede were shit after Butler left anyway - so it was only those first few tears they were great.
