Best performance for yonks. Absolutely terrific performance and result. It can't be dismissed as "just a friendly" as the Argentinians were clearly up for it, as clearly we were (the celebrations at the end made that clear). Once AshleyCole and Gary Neville are back we have the making of a superb first 11 and Joe Cole as a sub is a terrific option.

Never seen a friendly game with such passion and so few substitutions by England. I felt sorry for the Argentinian keeper who was my man of the match with three stunning saves and Owen looks sharp again especially after the way he mugged Crouch for his second! However I still think we are a top eight side than World Cup Winners especially the way the Argentinians got past our defence with ease at times.

Good day for England as we fought back well in the test against Pakistan (I was watching early am), out muscled the Aussies at Rugby Union and and good result for British Rugby League against the New Zealanders. And Orient still top of the Fourth Division!

I love Saturdays like these!

The game was more entertaining than all the qualifiers combined, I thiink we have a first 11 on a par with pretty much anyteam bar Brazil. My mate has put £300 on us to win the world cup at 8-1, probably wont happen bt i fancy us to get to the semi's at least.

Judging by the comments on the Radio 5 round-up of the Sunday Sport sections (no not nude nubiles) it seems that the press has gone overboard again. When will they ever learn?

Am I the only one not looking forward to the flags of St George and The Sun issued plastic bowler hats coming at us from every car/builder/white van etc again in 2006?

quite embarrassed myself bu celebrating when the equaliser went in
i think that although the argies were actually the better team for long periods, we actually made a load of chances and could easily have scored 5.
while agreeing that we wont actually win in the summer, te great thing about football is that the best team doesnt always win and that we have a side that is actually capable of beating anyone on a one off basis

oh and the crickets going even better, only 20 odd behind with 7 wickets left
