Friday 16th November Buffalo Bar 259 Upper St, N1 1RU London Adv Tickets: £5 (link coming soon) Door: £6 ✭ The Blanche Hudson Weekend ✭ http://www.facebook.com/bhweekend Formed from the ashes of The Manhattan Love Suicides in 2009. The Blanche Hudson Weekend have continued to scorch a path of adrenaline fuelled blasts of fuzz pop that their predecessors had perfected. Added to this shock and awe approach The Blanche Hudson Weekend have broaden their sonic palette taking in electronica, drone pop and occasionally cleaning up their sound to keep it interesting. Their new album will be coming out on vinyl in early 2013. ✭ Joanna Gruesome ✭ http://joannagruesome.bandcamp.com/ A wall of sound. Imagine 'Isn't Anything' era My Bloody Valentine channelled by sloppy DIY punk kids. Kicking up something of a storm. They blew the rough off the Church at Indietracks earlier this year. To die for. ✭ Schande (USA) ✭ http://allthingsschande.bandcamp.com/ They featured on the first ever single released by The Cribs on Squirrel Records. Over for a short tour from the USA - this is good old fashioned indie US style (Breeders, Throwing Muses, Pavement etc). "The kind of American music I lurve. Effortless cool, smart n slinky guitars underpinned with a minimalist rhythm section thats sooo on the money….Top fucking noise and no mistake." - Unpeeled (UK) ✭ Horowitz ✭ http://www.facebook.com/horowitzband/ "Horowitz songs are like something you can cling to when times are hard, or you’ve had a shit day at work, or you have no money or your girlfriend’s just told you she’s running off with your sister." (A Layer of Chips) Described as “the sound of the indiepop underground,” Horowitz formed in 2004 as a three-piece bedroom project. Since then they have released a full-length LP, 5 singles and numerous compilation tracks, memorably coining the slogan ‘Popkids of the World Unite!’ on the b-side of their first single for Cloudberry Records, 2007’s ‘Tracyanne.’ Practically bleeding DIY ethics, the band have taken their Pavement-meets-Subway Organization brand of noise pop to Germany, Sweden and the U.S, playing some of the finest indiepop clubs and festivals including Cosy Den in Stockholm and the 2010 NYC Popfest. “For other bands, Horowitz make lesson one quite simple. Have tunes. Loads of them." (In Love With These Times in Spite of These Times) Guest DJs with dancing until late after the bands. |

You can stream 3 songs from the new Blanche Hudson Weekend album here: http://bit.ly/QJN7bK Including the not yet released 'Blood and Butter'. I hope to see some Sounds XPers along for this. It's a cracking line up. |
