Hi, just to let you know about a gig coming up in Nottingham in September.
Saturday 26 September A Fog Of Ideas presents... Pocketbooks + Horowitz + Of Mice and Mental Arithmetic + Half My Heart Beats DJs
@ Hand and Heart Gallery, 65-67 Derby Road, Nottingham NG1 5BA
Info (last.fm):
POCKETBOOKS
Pocketbooks are a pop band from London, combining melodic boy/girl harmonies, spiralling guitars and delicate piano lines. Expect a sprinkling of dazzling 60s soul alongside some sparkling indiepop charm! Their debut album, Flight Paths, was released by How Does It Feel To Be Loved? in July 2009, and this is possibly the last chance to see them for a little while.
HOROWITZ
Fantastic fuzzy pop songs, all the way from Stoke. Horowitz are the most prolific band in indiepop, with a back catalogue that will make your head spin, your heart melt and your feet dance. They've a new single, Super Snuggles, out now This Almighty POP! records and an new 7" coming out soon on Cloudberry Records called 'How to Look Imploring'. And they're shortly to embark on a tour of Sweden next month. Popkids of the world unite!
OF MICE AND MENTAL ARITHMETIC
Three-sevenths of sadly defunct rawkus popsters The Deirdres plus Tom from indie-synth-guitar-pop heroes Lardpony. This is one of their first shows, so be one of the early birds and expect the unexpected!
Hope to see you there.
