February the 14th got you down? A week’s mourning following a cardless morning? Well we’ve got the perfect solution for you – drown your sorrows with a drink and a dance to these bad boys:
London-based darlings of the UK dance scene, the Young Punx also absolutely ROCK live! Fusing elements of house, electro, breakbeat and drum’n’bass with pop culture, rock, disco and even the shipping forecast (?!), the Young Punx manage the seemingly impossible – to be completely original and totally accessible at the same time. When your biggest fan is one Fatboy Slim, who described single ‘You’ve Got to…’ as possibly “The most insane/catchy tune of the year”, you know you’re doing something right!
Beatsy rockers The Daze have always aimed high – “We want to come across as the Stones did at the height of Beatle-mania, storm in as the anti-christ and tear the whole world apart”. We’re not so sure on the anti-christ bit, but we can guarantee that they’ll blow the roof off dancetillyoudie. Heavy drums, awesome song-writing…essential stuff!
Hailing from the seaside town of Weymouth, indie punkers The Dirty Sleeves have notched up an impressive collection of shows, including a UK tour with Babyshambles, and support dates with what pretty much constitutes a who’s who of recent indie talent: The View, The Holloways, Ali Love, and Jack Penate to name a few!
After the bands, the dancetillyoudie DJs ramp things up with beats galore – indie, rock, punk, new-wave, nu-rave, dance, breaks, electro – if you can dance to it, chances are we’ll play it. As ever, the art.war VJs bring their visual skills into play to make sure the evening goes off with a bang.
