This Wednesday night at the The Dry Bar, Oldham Street, Manchester - £4.00 - 8pm
Worried about Satan
Based in Leeds Worried About Satan make a mix of dance music and rock, lying somewhere between swirling atmospheres, thumping techno beats and huge walls of crippling noise. The band is named after an obscure b-side, and started in early 2006, after a particularly dull Xmas. They put out a full length record in early 2006 through Netlabel ‘You Are Not Stealing Records‘ and since then have worked hard on their live set building a thoroughly well deserved reputation that got them support slots with the likes of Youthmovies, christ, Jeniferever (as well as their tour support Paul Marshall), d.j. Shadow support act Stateless, Warp Records’ Clark and in front of 400 people in a Victorian theatre with new Beggars Banquet signings iLiKETRAiNS. A brand new e.p. is finished, and is being released by Birmingham based label Iapetus recordings later this year.
-“ Songs with an ethereal dream like quality delivered with a pulsating bombardment of electric bloops and loops and delayed guitars”
-” mix glacial guitar noises and glitch electro beats WAS come across like Explosions in the Sky backed by Aphex Twin”

Samuel Sharp are a barking mad trio that are three (well they would be wouldn‘t they) brothers from Salford that play a mix of Psychobilly/Bluegrass/Electronica but not necessarily in that order.
-“They've a nice trebly reverb about their spiky, slightly art school near-punk that suggests they might be taking cues from Mission Of Burma” Manchestermusic.com
Expect an energetic performance!

Electric Free Time Machine From deepest Lancashire and quote Frank Zappa, Captain Beefheart and Tom Waits (among others) as their influences. Described by a local newspaper as having "a sinister edge to their jam based experimental grooves" and by an audience member as "like Primus doing the soundtrack to a horror movie", Electric Free Time Machine resists easy categorisation. From hard and fast psychedelic punk boneyard blues and vast experimental krautrock ambient strangeness, to abrasive shambolic metal and delicate acoustic folk. Each setlist is constantly different, relying on both carefully structured tracks and is completely improvised. They played their first gig back in Nov 06 and since then have been fortunate to play with bands such as Opus Pocus, Bossk, Hot Bone and Bilge Pump to name a few. Currently working on an e.p and constantly writing new material. Always expect something a bit different.
