It's a good un. Here's "Ged M"'s review in an esteemed organ:
Islands is a successor band to the fabulous Unicorns (authors of the brilliant ‘Who Will Cut Our Hair When We’ve Gone’ and genius ‘Jellybones’ single), founded by ex-‘corns Nick Diamonds and J’aime Tambour. ‘Rough Gem’ is super smooth with nagging melodies, synth whizzes and electronic beats. It’s slightly cutesy but the essential goodness at its heart will win you over, especially when you hear the lyrics (about African diamond mining on the single and medical experimentation on the rap remix). Meanwhile, the unreleased ‘Big Bluff’ is psychedelic south sea hypnobeat. This is more intelligent pop music from Canada, with shades of Arcade Fire, and we can’t get enough of that these days.
