What I mean is that the population in this country is made up of people of differing abilities and differing financial and social circumstances. Until we can ensure that every child has the opportunity to make the most of their potential and is not disadvantaged by their background or education (ie unlikely) I think it's a bit rich to criticise those who have been successful (even if like Jade it's been done in a dubious way) because we don't think that they're bright enough to deserve it. I'm as guilty as anyone in this - maybe we're all just a bunch of snobs. Anyway, I've just re-read the above and have decided I'm being too serious for a Friday. |

I've no probs with her. At the end of the day it's whether you think she and all the other Z-list celebs deserve to make a damn good living out of whatever the heck it is they do when young nurses, etc work bloody hard for significantly less. Society's fucked and as long as we buy Chat, Take A Break, Have A Sausage Roll, etc and watch I Can't Believe That's A Celebrity, etc people will continue to make a damn good living out of doing nothing of any real merit. Ultimately we're to blame. |
