Hi everyone,
We are a new small independent record label called Cherryade, and we are very pleased to announce that our first release will be coming out on October 10th; it will be the debut full-band album by "John Peel's last great love," Bristol's finest, Steveless. The album will be called 'Popular Music in Theory' and will be available on very limited edition CD and bright pink vinyl. You can pre-order the album now from our website, , or by coming to the label launch or other Steveless gigs. We advise you to order your copy early to avoid disappointment, as it promises to be an instant classic. Also, for those of you vinyl junkies that opt for the lovely bright pink LP, you'll get an special extra treat!
This is the first official release by Steveless as a fully-fledged band. Steveless is best known as the solo project of maverick multi-instrumentalist Dan Newman, whose prolific demos brought him to the attention of John Peel, and earned him support slots for the likes of Darren Hayman.
He is still receiving regular airplay on Radio 1 and BBC Radio Wales, and is due to record a session for Huw Stevens' Radio 1 show in late October. The full-band sound retains all of the passion and individuality of solo Steveless music, but is definitely much more hummable! It can best be described as spiky, quirky, edgy, fuzzy indie-pop. Each of the twelve tracks on the album is an absolute gem, and it promises to become one of the albums of the year.
To experience the Steveless live show, why not come along to Lancaster's premier live venue, Feedback , which is situated in Korners Bar, Farmers Arms, Lancaster (see website). The label launch is on Saturday October 15th, and the line-up so far is:
