I am currently in love with five people, the extraordinary & incediary White Man Kamikaze. Based in London, these boys are tearing up every venue they play at with their swaggering sonic assaults. I have seen them a few times now and they just seem to get better with every viewing. The top secret weapon this band deploys is that the drummer/singer switch positions halfway through the set so that you are in effect witnessing two bands in one go, it is like Dutch football in the form of a band!! The first half of the set is very 'english' and the slinky frontman resembles some kind of Tim Burton character with staring eyes and a shock of dark hair, he jerks around the stage missing the mike on occasion and bouncing off the other members of the band like a restless child. His songs are jerking, screeching affairs that remind me of Magazine strutting down Kings Road?!? After a few numbers and just when everyone is getting comfortable, he quickly passes his guitar to the drummer and the pair switch places, the band just clatter on regardless!!! Now we are faced with a hairy monster of a man who screams and shouts like some kind of rock and roll preacher intent on converting everyone to his religion!! The set now takes a different turn into some kind of filthy trailer-park BBQ gone off the rails!!! I have never seen a band like this, they have seriously side-stepped any kind of scene and are just playing with the kind of confidence that is rarely seen in an unsigned, unknown band. Forget everything you know and check this band out if you can, they seem to be playing only London shows at the moment but I am told that they are undertaking a Barfly tour in the New Year so hopefully more people can get to see them!!!

www.whitemankamikaze.com and sounds like a demo to me. I just hope that they manage to get an album out because from what I have heard the tunes are amazing!!
