All those gimmicks, I find it tiresome. Looking at that wild increase in popularity since '08 is really interesting - is vinyl at the point now where it could actually face a backlash from an upcoming generation? So much of the sales seem to be about gimmicks or novelty (compared to, say, DVDs or Cds) which could suggest that many of the buyers are swayed by trend and could easily fall away should they feel the format has become 'passe' to them. |

re: playlists. Where are most of the songs that end up on playlists compiled from? Albums. Albums and singles. Playlists rely on the existence of the album. Ergo, they're going nowhere. |
