So.... did anybody go? I did. Wandered down to Head in Bromley. Turned up at9 and got in at 9:50. Surprisingly large amount of stuff for a little shop. Spent £20 on Beaks and Mogwai for mate and £32 on Kate Bush, Sharon Von Etton/Shearwater, Warsaw LP and Swinging Mademoiselles EP for me, none of which I needed or had set off wioth the intention of buying. Ho hum. Main feeling was that the whole thing was a rip-off. Sevens seemed to be £5-10 (See Emily Play was £15!!!), tens about £11-14, twelves ditto and LPs anything between £18 and £35. How's that justified? Few of the pressing numbers seemed that small. Bowie seemed to be the must have based on overheard snippets in the queue. |

I spent the day on the beach. No idea what was available this year and nor do I care. Mind you the local record shop in Leigh will no doubt still have stuff available and I may have a browse if I can be bothered. They still had releases from RSD from 2011 and 2012 the last time I ventured in. |

I walked straight past the massive queue for the Record Collector vinyl shop into the CD shop where they were doing 20% off all stock and bought these, pausing only to block my ears against some godawful sub-Adele shouter who was bothering the queue. The Crookes were playing in the street by the time I'd been to the supermarket, had to shift quite a few fans of not-bad inoffensive jangle to get to my bike which was chained up directly across the road from them. |

Wandered into rough trade east about 3.30 while waiting for my partner to finish work and annoyingly just missed Public Service Broadcasting who I would have gone out of my way to see if I had realised they were playing. I didn't want anything and don't like the recordstoreday concept, but would have bought the BSP if they had one, which they didn't. Plenty on eBay though. I did buy several normal CDs ( merchandise, hookworms, dan michaelson) and left when the strypes came on |

So now you all agree with me! Catch up! I on the other hand had a great time at a DIY record fair at Power Lunches - bought 3 LPs and 8 7" singles mainly by bands recommended to me by the stall owner. |
