They're snazzy pop is a real delight, too. They've released stuff on the fab Haircut Records. And they've got a new 7" due on WeePOP! soon (I think!). They're ace. But don't take my word for it. Here is what others have said about them: "TIGERCATS write songs about Stevie Nicks and Whitechapel, all delivered atop a cloud of shimmering dream rock. Drums twist and guitars bloom like fireworks, whilst a plaintive vocal sounding eerily like Pete Shelley underpins their sound". - Upset the rhythm "A brand new band featuring members of Esiotrot and Hexicon, east London’s Tigercats reimagine The Wave Pictures and Violent Femmes as spiky, infectious post-punk anti-heroes. They've recently 'released' a free download EP so you can check them out before the show. "Apparently they started out as a bit of an 80′s throwback band, well i'm glad that all changed, Mothers Ruin is a brilliant and massively exciting EP from a new and even more exciting band" - Hey Man, Check My Band ★ The Whatevers ★ http://thewhatevers.bandcamp.com/ These DIY urchins from the North (er Leeds, possibly?) play shambolic and tuneful indiepop. They too, are very new. And I think everyone is going to love them. They've released a free EP on Holiday Records and have got a few bits and bobs including the fab 'Art and Sex' LP for sale on Bandcamp. "Full of rattley guitars, ropey singing and shoouty bits in the right places, most of the songs here sound a little like late '90s heroes Uresei Yatsura and, at times, early Hefner." - A Layer Of Chips |
