It’s an old complaint but how do some people justify ticket prices? Me and Bovine were at the Windmill last night for 3 excellent bands (Smith Westerns, Dignan Porch, Dead Models) – and tickets were £7 each with something like a £1 booking fee (good old We Got Tickets). But then I tried to find tickets for La Sera supporting Jenny and Johnny because I can’t be at the Windmill Tuesday. No decent ticket sellers have them. Just See, who are charging £16.50 for the tickets, another £1.65 for postage and £4.80 for “administration”. So it costs 5p short of £23 to see a couple of bands at either the Luminaire, Mass or Bush Hall who really you wouldn’t pay much more than a tenner to see. Those tossers at See in a previous life clearly used to hang out with Dick Turpin. |

Wankers. That administration fee is the real killer, especially for one ticket. |

I find it amazing that "going to gigs" is now seen as a sort of 'premium' activity which people are willing to pay these extortionate fees for. A similar drift like that experienced with football in the 90's... See also - festivals. They're now like the "THING" that people like estate agents and recruitment consultants do with their summers... it used to just be us tramps but, no... Weird. |
