I’m meant to be working but this has totally distracted me. Herman Dune were at their best when David-Ivar and Andre were both in the bands with their big beards (and if Turner Cody was in the band at the same time as Andre, then that was a three-beard hair bonanza). Neman’s top lip warmer is no substitute for Andre’s chin forest. Multiple beards usually equate to crap – Lyrnyrd Skynyrd being one big hairy crapness. Or Fleetwood Mac. Kings of Leon don’t count because they do whatever their stylist tells them and their stylist is as big a bag of shite as them. Do Fleet Foxes have more than one beard? They’re good. King Creosote has the sort of “can’t be fucked to shave” beard and he’s good but not sure if the other scruffs in his band rock a similar razor-shortage look. The best I can come up with is Devendra Banhart and the Hairy Fairies, or Vetiver – you get no respect among freaky folksters unless you have chin pubes. So I’m with the Milchman on this. More than one beard means a load of indulgent wank! |
