Oh dear. But to be honest - it's a lot easier to buy records online - from places like Norman Records or direct from the bands. I am not sure record shops as I remember them stand much of a chance. I buy more music these days than I have since I was a teenager and I go into record shops - probably once a month at most. They're not really needed, today. |

The problem is to labels though as shops buy in batches, online stores buy as they go along and it's therefore cashflow and manufacturing quantities that are that much harder |

Interesting. They extended their opening hours then recently I noticed they’d reduced them again, obviously as a cost cutting measure. It’s a shame if it has closed though - I wasn’t fond of them but it’s still another outlet gone. What happens to the stock that they have in there – will Cargo and other distributors have been paid? There are at least 3 Sounds Experience singles in that store! |

Agree with Bola on the judgement but still sad that another shop in Soho will disappear. Sadly the net and mail order is the only way for these shops to survive and some are good at it (Picadilly and RT) and others are not (Sister Ray and Action). If you can't offer a mini review and listen to a 20 second snippet of the record then you're not trying hard enough and the good ones try very hard. |
