Witnessed SPT guiding a blind man straight into a table last week and also once saw Muir trying to help a person carry a pram backwards off a train and subsequently half falling down the gap between the train and platform nearly tipping the toddler out in the process. Anyone else acted like a buffoon while supposedly trying to help? |

I don’t know if there’s some kind of blind centre near where I work, but there always seems to be lot of blind people about. Anyway, its a nightmare road to cross (Kingsway on Holborn) and I saw a blind person the other week standing at the lights. Feeling all altruistic, I wonder up to offer my help. In some crazed confusion in my brain between the difference blindness and deafness, I shuffle up beside him and yell in his ear at maximum volume: “DO YOU WANT HELP CROSSING THE ROAD!!! ..” Obviously, he hadn’t seen me approaching and he almost jumped out of his skin with fright. I realised my embarrassment and in the confusion, I just legged it. No doubt some bystanders just assumed I was taking the piss .. |
