In anticipation of Ladyfest Manchester, we're hosting two fundraisers at opposite ends of the country, so if you can make it to either city please come and show your support, you're guaranteed a great time! First up, at the Soho Arts Centre on July 18th is your chance to see Cherryade favourites Candy Panic Attack plus Marie Tueje, Mad'moiselles and Iraq, all for only a fiver! Then, in Manchester itself, there will be a glorious all-dayer, starting FREE from 3pm, complete with BBQ, games and mayhem - plus music from Lorelei Loveridge and Lou Whatling. Then, from 7pm onwards (for just £4): Ill Ease (New York) – think PJ Harvey meets the Breeders from 7pm £4 Underwire ("exist on a plane outside normal comprehension" Manc) Hug Party TBC("No party like Mother Hugging Hug Party" Manc) DJ Shay-K (Alternative dance beats, Crane Lane, Long Island, Cork) All happening in the gorgeous garden of the Rampant Lion, 17 Anson Rd, Manchester, M14 5BZ. Promises to be a grand day out, be there if you can! |

Sorry Cherryade but I hate this kind of thing because it does discriminate! The spin on the site is codswallop! See below. 'We aim to be inclusive. We stand against sexism, racism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism and other forms of discrimination.' Make up your mind. Isn't this one about sexism so why are they throwing the other margins in? Wouldn't it be better to just have a fest that blends everybody in (as long as they're talented) and just call it 'Is Everybody in?' I'm sorry but i've never understood this kind of thing. By title alone they're discriminating. I don't buy this kind of lark for a second. My tits do not define me. I wish it every success though... Yours faithfully, Posthumanist. |
