From this day forward all street team posts will be deleted and the purpetrators banned. Flooding the board with blatant lies about bands (eg "I've just found a fantastic band called The Pink Shreddies on Myspace and wondered if anyone else likes them? I think they might be doing a tour soon, playing Manchester Bull and Egg on the 13th, Sheffield Sickle and Toad on the 14th and the Luton International Fisting Arena on the 15th. They also may have a single out called Woops I've Shat Myself next Monday, priced £108 but I'm not sure. Check out their website for more details. About time too! I've no problem with real people posting about bands, or actual bands plugging themselves (that in itself has caused some of the funniest threads ever to appear on this board), but this continued spamming by street-teamers has to stop. It wouldn't be so bad if they were a bit inventive about it, but they all follow the usual format as outlined by Bov above. It may work on the average floppy haired teen, but not here where 90% of the posters are folically challenged and have a girth so wide they haven't seen their own feet in 10 years! |
