the fact is that on champions league days i look at who's on telly. utd or arse i watch, liverpool or chelsea i dont. boring depressing grind out results teams, i have west ham to watch if i want that!
so against all my better judgement i want utd to win

the money problem runs much deeper than the top flight. for the third season in a row altrincham have finished in the relegation zone of the conference but wont be relegated again because of the financial shenanigans of others. in this case its halifax, who were losing 30 thousand pounds a week and ended up owing 2million!
gateshead have announced they will go full time next year on gates of 400! dover reputedly pay their manager 60k!
there are consistent rumours of serious financial fallout at several of the top conference clubs, where the future has been gambled on gaining league status. earlier this year crawley turned up at alty in a fleet of players cars because the club owed a pile of money to a local coach firm.

Read the Guardian's excellent supplement yesterday on the Final and it made me realise that I can't actually dislike the majority of this United team unlike Chelsea. I mean, Tevez, what is there to not like? He even wears his scars as a badge of honour when someone of his wealth could have had surgery many years ago (in fact one previous club even offered to pay for him). And Scholes, good family man, who still goes to see Oldham play whenever he can. Even Ferdinand, who used to be Mr Bling and is clearly as thick as a couple of shorties does more for charity than most footballers put together. If it wasn't for the fact that I'm watching the game round a Chelsea mate's place I could almost be tempted to support Yoonited just this once.

How gutted must these Chelsea fans be:



I assume they'll sue.

Yeah I laughed at that scene last night. Looked like Rio had chucked the contents of his jewelery drawer up in the air.

Anyone else KNOW Terry was going to miss that pen. And how off the game was Anelka? Rubbish for the time he was on the pitch then as the only remaining out and out striker Chelsea had for the pens he steps up SEVENTH (they only had ten men on the pitch and one of them was a keeper). It was clear he was going to cock it up. Comments about the stupidity of Drogba are unnecessary but I'd love to know what was said to Vidic because he suddenly completely lost it (I'd wager Croats, his wife and bizarre practices, possibly). If Terry hadn't held him back he'd have walked too.

What a game! It was sooooo exciting. And surely the ultimate proof that the English game, although not technically the best, is definitely the most exciting, swashbuckling style of football (when played at that level).

I really felt for John Terry though. I desperately wanted United to win but I didn't want it to be an Englishman that lost it for Chelsea either. I knew Anelka wasn't going to score. I expected him to blaze over but was confident at that point United were going to do it.
