I think I'd have rather woken up and discovered we'd elected a man in a monkey suit than that racist posh idiot. I think the anti-Ken factor seemed far more significant than any pro-Boris. I suspect he'll be marginalised as a mayor anyway. The Tories know he's not up to any actual detailed policy so will just surround him with aids and advisors. It's basically Vote Johnson Get Old Etonian Tory fuckpig. As for the BNP... much as I prefer proportional representation (and the top up list of the Assembly in particular), the downside is that you give an opportunity for scum like them to get in. It just means the mainstream parties need to work harder at exposing them for what they are and understanding the real fears of the weak, vulnerable or just plain stupid who vote for them. |

Oh dear. Ken, all you had to do was admit that the free travel child concept and implementing it was a bad idea (an understatement) Had you promised to abolish it, you'd be sitting in power still. Instead you have left us in the hands of a bumbling buffoon who does not know or love london. I hope that he gets a good team in to do all the work and thinking for him. It's the small things that matter to Londoners when it comes to the vote - I don't care about global warming, I care about being able to sit on a bus without a non-payer ruining my life. Our public transport is a cesspit, Ken. Your fault. The shocker is the people who voted Ken first and BNP second - to 'level' it out - Ken being too far left. I don't get that concept. And of course let us not forget that this is the 'protest' vote - this is the chance to give parties a flavour of how the nation is feeling. It's a warning for labour at the expense of Ken. What protest voters do not realise is the power that the mayor has. A pearly king, he is not. This is why I no longer do politics. It's all bollocks - all the parties are bollocks, all the politicians are bollocks, and worse than that, the majority of voters are bollocks. |
