are a bunch of music enthusiasts who promote and put on exciting events in and around Leicester. Their alumni include Darren Hayman, MJ Hibbett, Pete Green, The School and Rose Elinor Dougall, so you're in safe hands!
Pocketbooks
This year we've been keeping fairly quiet and writing new songs, occasionally surfacing on the Topshop instore radio or to shovel rocks out of the Indietracks disco tents. As it's a Friday night we'll be playing an upbeat poppy mix of new and old songs. Think guitars, pianos, harmonies and the occasional handclap.
The Gresham Flyers
London-based powerpop misfits brought together in the firm belief that pop music should be fun, enthusiastic, thoughtful and genuine. Their label home, Cherryade Records, is run by University Challenge and Mastermind legend Rachel, who clearly knows her stuff. Think somewhere between Pulp's claustrophobic, synthetic sleaze and The Arcade Fire's anthemic histrionics.
The Screenbeats
A longstanding and strangely beguiling four-piece hailing from the Home Counties. Taking inspiration in equal measure from Motown & Northern Soul, The Clash and the Smiths, the result is a sophisticated and unusual slant on indie pop.
