I've never really been one for sound quality and have no intention of becoming a hi-fi dullard. But my old headphones are starting to pack up, so I ug out some unused HMV vouchers and got some House of Marley ones cos they were on offer (under £30). The old ones weren't that bad, but these, while a bit odd (they're wooden) have thunderous bass. Not like I listen to loads of reggae, but Sunn O))) and Swans sound great.

What else have I missed out on?

Anything with Will Caruthers on bass (i.e late Spacemen 3/early Spiritualized)

Oh god. Can you imagine anything worse than Mark King and Flea forming a supergroup?

Sounds like you share your hi-fi views with the current laptop generation

... everything sounds better with decent headphones.
