| On the mooch for music for a naming ceremony. Something a bit touching but not twee. Thought this might be the place for some unorthodox suggestions, if anyone would like to share them. Thanks in advance. |

Obvious but if it's a boy you could go for 'Beautiful Boy' by John Lennon.
Little Fat Baby by Sparklehorse is nice (but don't tell anyone about the singer's suicide)
and 'You are the sunshine of my life' by Stevie Wonder if they don't mind a bit of cheese _________________ God is a word and the argument ends there |

What's a naming ceremony - you launching a ship? Anyway, touching but not twee, OK. I'll give you some ideas off the top of my head (and a few off the iPod):
Billie Holliday: God Bless the Child
The Heart Strings: Kids
Devendra Banhart: I Feel Just Like A Child
Byrds: Goin Back
Peter, Bjorn and John: Young Folks
British Sea Power: Childhood Memories
Teardrop Explodes: Tiny Children
Emma Pollock: The Child In Me
Blanche: Child of the Moon
for girls:
Voxtrot: Mothers, Sisters, Daughters and Wives
Chris Bell: You and Your Sister
Tompaulin: It's A Girl's World
Dr Alimantado: Born for a Purpose (if you want something different)
And nothing inappropriate like Gary Puckett's Young Girl or Absentee's We Should Never Have Children! _________________ "Little Jack Horner sitting on the corner
