Playhouse 003 is a special edition, to celebrate what would've been the 59th birthday of Douglas Adams, author of Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy, lover of the number 42 &c. We might even have our own Total Perspective Vortex on the night, along with some improvised version of the Pan-Galactic Gargle Blaster.

We’ll be back at The Drop on Saturday March 19, with a special Douglas Adams themed night, with 42 very special prizes to give away (for the first 42 people in) and a sure-to-be-incredible DJ set from our very special guest, The Leisure Hive, who will explain the meaning of life to you - through song. And olives.

You'll get to watch all sorts of Hitchhikery delights on the projector as you dance to a set of robotic sci-fi pop and squelchy synths alongside the usual mix of Kylie Minogue, Edwyn Collins, Devo and The Supremes.

PLAYHOUSE is a sparkling new monthly night that takes place at The Drop in Stoke Newington.

You may know us from our former guises Pic ‘n’ Mixx, Baby Honey and Twee As F**k. We have held nights at the Buffalo Bar, Hoxton Square Bar & Kitchen, Bush Hall, and Bardens Boudoir and put on shows featuring the likes of Lucky Soul, The School, The Lodger, The Pastels, The Primitives, The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart, Camera Obscura, The Lucksmiths, Cats On Fire and Crystal Stilts - and DJed at festivals and various clubs all over UK, Europe, and USA.
