That's how much Domino are charging for the special edition of Will Olham's new book with six new tracks on two 10"s. I'm a sucker for Bonnie Prince Billy stuff but that's about 5 times more than I'd stretch to. Who's buying this stuff?

I've spent nearly as much on single records before. But not new. I've got a Spiritualized box set that was over £100 but that is very deluxe and limited.

Hmm, quite a lot to take a punt on but there does at least appear to be 11 LPs' worth of stuff in that, plus bits and bobs (for rather less than £150 I suspect). See also the 'Vinyl-on-Demand' packages.

The six tracks in the Will Oldham package are re-recordings of earlier songs even.

Hmm link to the pre-order and price seesm to have disappeared...

The postage for that bundle (about 60 quid) and no doubt import taxes makes it not much of a bargain for me. I will chance me arm at Daves in Letchworth come RSD 2012!

Unsurprisingly, the Sub Girls didn't for last long after that little stunt. I blame Teasy.

A Young British Artist, I think. Could we get Tracey Emin to vomit over a box of Bridge Gang singles? That would make a great art event (and make some serious money).

I know a couple of people who are piss artists. I could get one of them to piss on them if you think it would help them sell.

Only if they're well known for it! If you have to pick up a soggy pube from a soiled single cover, it helps the re-sale if you can say: that's one of Billy Childish's, that is.

The celebrity pube market is another music industry oversight. If the new Slow Club album came with a free pube from each of them it would probably sell loads more. I'm surprised I haven't been snapped up by a major label to head their marketing campaigns.

Although we might see a marked reduction in the number of Susan Boyle CDs shifted...

SOLD OUT?

I fail to think of a time where the concept of folk having more money than sense is truer.

At least the BPB book plus EP package seems to have resurfaced in a slightly different format for a far less eyewatering £20 or so...
