I'm Bovine Juice... aka Paul aka Mawders... I'm one of TWO editors at SoundsXP... one does the serious writing stuff, is highly respected but doesn't even know how to fill a kettle, the other writes nonsense, is rarely sober but gets the teas in. Sadly I'm the latter.
I live in South London and can usually be found crumpled under the telly in the Windmill with the other old gimmers cradling a flat pint of Pedigree. Luckily the other editor has a wheelbarrow to take me home in. I don't play in any bands whatsoever so can't even claim cred from that though I did once sell a gin and tonic to the woman who played Heather in Brookside. You know the woman, she went onto appear in something else but I don't remember what that was. |

Hi, i'm Cavey though I was born Captain Caveman. I also live in South London but let's not hold that against me. I have just watched 'Control' after Mr Peculiar insisted. It's a wonderful film but has made me also want to hang myself. Why are the most gifted, beautiful people in the world depressives?
SoundsXP are like my extended family and I am like the naughty second cousin who makes an appearance now and again to 'service' the editors. My husband to be is Spanish but is studying physics in Finland at the moment and seeing as I am Irish but studying other men in England at the moment, I can't see us getting to the altar.
I love music and I love winding people up, it keeps me young and gives my skin a healthy glow. _________________ Cavey Cocker, Cup Cake Queen, Saint Thomas. |

I'm Trev, who at various points has been involved with running lostmusic, deadbilly, indie-mp3 and latterly odd box. I also started a new forum: Talent Is A Vampire.
I've been know to drink, dance and fall over. In the summer the hair is short. In the winter, it's long.

Aquarius and my name's Ralph...
Well, it's Matt really. Sort of North of England correspondent after moving up to Sheffield halfway through the life of the site. But a correspondent that doesn't go out much. So the odd Sheffield gig is all that gets covered.
Mostly I listen to Blondie 'cos my 2-year-old is obsessed and won't listen to anything else. It could be so much worse. The youngest will probably go for Barney the Dinosaur or something.
I've been to the Windmill once. _________________ Embrace the margin |

| Evening all, I'm Max, once of south London but I escaped courtesy of some re-taken A-levels back in 1986, now based in Brighton, which is sort of far enough from 'real home' but close enough if needs be, if you know what I mean? Kinda fell into the SXP thing when the gang down here got back into gig-going after that 'meeting-someone-settling-down-having-a-family-no-you-can't-go-to-the-pub-with-those-layabouts' phase (or was it just impending middle age crises all round?), so I'm now living the immortal wannabe-NME hack's dream all over again! And it's a great way of getting through the working (I use that word loosely) day... |

Greetings children of the rock n roll revolution, I am Micky aka Bananas, and I am a resident of Greenford Rock City (which to you people of limited geographical knowledge is situated at the westerly end on the central line).
I am a sound and video technician/roadie/dogsbody, part time scribbler and fountain of all technical knowledge for SXP and member of the seminal band My Gay Monkey.
I got sucked into the SXP Death Star Tractor Beam many years ago when there were only a couple of layabout idiots writing for it. The years have flown by but at least the ratio between layabout idiot writers and decent ones has increased.
It was all a downward musical spiral for me once I heard my first power chord.
We love both punk and rock, non-league football, moshing, Eastern European/Scandinavian Girls, left handed bass players from Hanwell, and random hair colourings.
We dislike both twee and country, the Rags and the Scummers, chin scratching, english WAG wannabes, fat fingered guitarists from South Oxhey (joke) and Just for Men.
I get a nosebleed if I have to travel past Pimlico on the Victoria Line.
I have had several death-threats and menaces thrown in my direction following my reviews on this site (some of which I am certain were instigated by the Editors).
The Windmill is a toilet, but still the nicest toilet south of the river (which isn't saying much I know) and I can often been found asleep in the garden or annoying the pretty girl on the door.
Mines a Becks by the way.
Ta-ta!!! _________________ GREENFORD ROCK CITY!
Well, I'm sure I'd feel much worse if I weren't under such heavy sedation.
As long as there's sex and drugs, I can do without the Rock 'n' Roll.... |

hello there XP-zers, i am jlord (or jamie or, to some who try and type to fast, merely "jord").
i've been noncing around on the XP forums for a few years now, initially due to musical tanglings with vodka-volauvent - dookerdoo and myself (plus a drummer, but this isn't about him) were the inestimable daddy long legs and used to do lots of gigs with V-V's various musical pies. DLL's main claim to fame is that we got a single released digitally via XP's own thoroughly sexual record label. rumour has it that we sold over 15 copies.
i live in dalston, i'm old enough to regularly get asked why i "still live with my best mate from school" but not old enough to have a proper career yet (it's starting in september FYI)...
i like spiky music with harmonies and odd rhythms and time signatures (but please don't insult me by dubbing this "math-rock"), i like football as much as being a palace fan can allow, i ride a bmx with white tyres and you won't find better throwers and catchers of frisbees than dooks and myself.
after daddy long legs, i set up my own musical project which i never give enough attention to, then i was in some pop band for a bit before i got sacked for being too good at frisbee, and now i'm playing with a couple of bands, neither of whom have gigged yet. but when they do, you'll know..
i like the windmill but i dislike swathes of south london, so i don't go there that much ;-) |

I'm Darren and I run a record label called Thee SPC. I mostly come on here to plug records & read about football.
I'd not heard of SXP till my band had a record out and someone bought it (prob SPT) in Forever Changes record shop and said something along the lines of "Hey, my pals in that there posh London will have a bit of this!" So I sent them a promo & hung about waiting for the inevitably glorious review here.
I live in Sheffield, but I'm originally from Liverpool and I support Everton.
I'm currently listening to Teenage Fanclub. I really love Norman's & Gerard's songs but Raymond could do with cheering up ffs. _________________ Pin It On Badges

I'm Chimes and I'm an alc... oh sh*t, it's not Tuesday is it...
My name is James, and at school my mates , being from very West London, invariably would pronounce 'Alright James?' as 'Owite Chimes?'.
So there you go.
I used to play in bands and run club nights. But no longer. Music's dead. There can no longer be anything of any worth or interest from me. Apart from what I make on the 'pootah. And very limited flashes of brilliance and potential here and there. Potential inevitably unfulfilled.
It all went right with The Smiths, and can never be as right again.
Happy Days! _________________ sometimes I write things.... |

Not me (which is why I bought your spare copy a couple of months back), I was still la-di-da poncing around down that London, eating caviar and sipping Pimms at that legendary hang out of the latterday Bloomsbury Set, the Caxton House bar. _________________ Embrace the margin |

Hehe. When I live in London I did actually drink Pimms quite a lot (well, it was Twickenham!) You mean we have another fan!? Woo! _________________ Pin It On Badges

I'm Nick, bit of an old hippy but was a punk back in '76, father of 4 (think I've worked out what causes it now - its going to the pub), member of The Janskys, Sheffield United fan. Spend lots of time out in the countryside huddled under canvas. Currently listening to the new albums by Vetiver, M Ward, King Creosote and Doves (who I am off to see tonight!!! ) on repeat. _________________ Jesus died for somebody's sins, but not mine. |

I'm Claire, I live in Brighton and I'm a bit boring. I was a chubby toddler - hence my family nickname Beanie.
I stumbled accross Soundsxp a many moons ago when they reviewed my friend's gig. I introduced myself to BJ and Anarchy at a gig in London (where I was working at the time) and had to be helped into a cab to Victoria! The rest is history.
Every now and then I turn up to a Soundsxp gig in London and drink too much and have to be helped to Victoria......so nothing much changes really... |

Hi everyone!
Big Electronica fan and alternative/indie music as well. I'm living in Paris at the moment, finishing my degree. Looking to move to England actually! Love a good party, travel and networking.
Favourite record label would be Urban Torque Recordings, artists would be Funk D Void & The Diogenes Club.
Really love this website, always keeps me in tune with good new music.
Cheers |

Hello.
I'm Westie. I'm not very tall. I have a beard. I like cardigans. I used to get drunk a lot and post stories on here about me doing daft things. But now I'm older, wiser - hardened, experienced... strong, so I tend to stay in more these days behaving myself. I think... I'm of the more indie schmindie folky beardy end of the SoundsXPectrum. I also enjoy talking about football lots. Football's great. I live in East London.
Many thanks. |

My name is Arran. I spam the messageboard with the gigs i am doing.
I have a reputation for eating all of the BBQ at the Windmill on bank holidays.
Sometimes i bring my own plates so i can get more on, and so far nobody has noticed that i put a few extra bits in my snare case so i can bring burgers and pork chops on stage.

Spice! Ever so slightly camp bass player with erstwhile New Romantic-Punks mygaymonkey! Regularly gets a thump in the mush whilst on stage by Bananas, retaliates with my bass getting wrapped round his head. All good fun!
Famed for drunkenly starting fights and being rescued by Bananas, making a hasty exit from bars resembling wild west saloons, completely non-plussed!
