Heh. Nay bother, westie. These things should be discussed - their taboo status makes it harder for everyone. I think if people talked more about these kind of things they'd be less suicides.
To tell you the truth i'm haunted by an incident years ago where my mum's ex-neighbour (who I befriended) knocked on the door asking for a reading and a talk - we had a family crisis so I was too busy to see her. In fact the crisis took me away that night and when I came home the following week I found out that she had driven her car over a bridge onto a railway track the day after I told her that I couldn't speak to her. I don't think that she was thinking about inconveniencing passengers that day. She left behind a little girl.
Selfish is the gun man who shoots untold innocents, including the girlfriend who dumped him. If you're distraught by a break up you end your own life - you don't take loads of people with you. I've never understood that whole 'dying for love' scenario.
And for the record - I was on the platform once when our train was delayed by a suicide and the commuter next to me went nuts saying 'I'm going to be late now for work, selfish bastard' and I turned to them with as much dignity as I could muster (which is hard for me) and I said 'Shame on you. Shame if you think that your nine-five clock being tampered with does not pale in comparison to a human being who, rather than face life again, has thrown themselves into the path of a fucking train' They gave me a filthy look so I added 'I wish you every unsuccess in life' (cue evil stare) Heh.
