i once drunkenly cornered tommy vance back stage at a gig at the brixton academy. i think he was a bit wary at first but he ended talking his ass off to me for about an hour. a very sweet man.
the other day when we encouraged people to request our single after mark riley played it on his show - he finally, having received swathes of badly disguised spam from well meaning daddy long legs fans, replied to an email in which the sender (in france) had misspelled his name and got the name of the show wrong saying "cut out you lot - i know you've been marshalled!". the baffled recipient forwarded it to me and i was forced to e-apologise to marc for attempting to spam him. to his eternal credit he took it all in good humour.
not me but a female friend had been drunkenly chatting with jude law at a party (trying to sell him her stupid guiness hat) for some time when someone informed her who she was bantering with at which point she turned and asked loudly "are you jude law?!" - he got up and walked off without another word.
i met vic reeves last year but was so drunk that i was too scared to contribute to the conversation even though i knew i could do a better bob dylan impression than the one he was doing for the three other people there. i just swayed and smiled politely.
whilst pedicabbing i took a few famous faces in my rickshaw but most of those exchanges were pretty lame. oh except when taking suggs to the lauren hill album launch party i went under the hyde park underpass and my chain came off at the bottom. suggs and his date had to get out on the busy underground road and push u sup the hill. that was pretty embarassing.
