Maybe Bov is controversially waiting until the end of the year?

Though that wouldn't explain the deadline of the weekend before last.

He probably just hasn't found a suitable photo of a lady in her pants to photoshop the award into yet.

Always the most difficult part of the process, requiring hours, nay weeks, of intensive research.

Not really. I think the 21st century, rather like the twentieth, has passed me by. best send a carrier pigeon.

(I'll look now!)

I don't listen to enough albums to vote. Just a simple favourite three tracks of the year will suffice. Oh...........

Ged, you never bloody read it and yet you commented on posts on my wall! You nutter. I'll have to text you or send a pigeon. Luckily it's not that important - like 'Help Ged, been kidnapped, send reinforcements' :-)

Well, I got 3 entries. I'm very surprised about 2 of them. I had Mode Moderne at 10 in my albums list and it was the only one of my choices to make it in. I'd be interested to know who else voted for it.

Also - Horseshoe by Withered Hand was in my top 10 (8 maybe?) and has ended up winning which I'm actually quite amazed about. The other track I voted for that made the cut was Until The Sun Explodes by The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart.

Good to see Elephant in the list, but you got the wrong song. There are at least 2 better tracks on that album!

Actually, if anyone wants to see my top 25 tracks and top 10 albums lists then they're on my site - link in my signature. Shands' choices are too, and a lot of them made the SXP list despite him not being involved in the voting!

Hang on...

Did you count my top 10s in reverse order? My number 10 album made the list (Mode Moderne), my number 10 track made the list (The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart) and so did my number 8 track (Withered Hand) - but nothing from the top end!

It's a slick operation...

My votes are the right way round. Hence Bastard Mountain, James Yorkston & Virgin of the Birds.

Not many of us go to gigs...

We don't get a lot of gigs where I am!

I submitted mine thus:

10) Perry Como
9) Pat Boone
8) Cliff Richard
7) Cilla Black
etc...

So I sent them in reverse order, like a countdown, but as you can see (despite making up names for the purposes of this message) each was clearly labelled with which number it was! And thinking about it further, I have a feeling I had Withered Hand at #9 which would have given it more points. So both my #10s were included and one of my #9s - they must have been given the points meant for the top 2 in my albums list (The Popguns and The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart) and tracks (Elephant and Broken Records). OOOOPS!

That's an alright list that - although Divide & Exit isn't the Sleaford Mods strongest record, I am happy it sits top of the pile.

(The Wolfhounds scraping in to the top tracks thing was a surprise).

Mug Museum and Avant Gardener were released in 2013... and I'm pretty sure they were in my list last year!

If you want to hear any of the tracks that made the (dubiously worked out) cut that you might have missed out on, I've updated the On Our iPod playlist on the front of the site so that it has a continuous playlist of the countdown. So you can hear the lot all in on place from 20-1.

Wish you'd done that the day before Kev; would have saved me from seeking each one out individually. Personally, I thought it a piss poor year for recorded music. My favourite LP was Nun More Black by Ye Nuns; when the best LP of the year is a covers album, it doesn't say much for new music. Only other albums I bought this year were Back From The Grave volumes 9 & 10 (again more oldies) and Krot by The Rebel. Like Seaford Mods lyrics, but get bored with their music too quickly to want to own the album but I'm keen to give the new Einstürzende Neubauten, Run The Jewels and Gazelle Twin LPs, none of which I've heard right through, a proper listen.

Went to some good gigs though. Will start a gigs of the year thread elsewhere to list my favourites.

Oh right, sorry. It's a busy time obviously, so it took me a few days to get it done!

I've loved lots of stuff this year, it was difficult choosing my top 25 tracks and top 10 albums to go on my site, but I'd happily listen to any of them any time still - even after playing them over and over again to get the order right!

Not at all Kev. It was very thoughtful of you to do a playlist at all.
