I know nothing about this other than that someone I know alittle bit is in one of the bands. But with a poster like this, how can it not be good?

Weirdsville nights are nearly always pretty enjoyable. They seem to have taken up the mantle from the much missed Corn Rocket Club and The Dirty Water Club, which seems unable to find a decent home these days. They've got several good bands booked for the coming months, including The 5678s, The Shook Ups, MFC CHicken & Speedball Jr. Checkout their Facebook events page here:
https://en-gb.facebook.com/pages/Weirds ... &sk=events

Which band has someone you know in SPT? I've seen Empress Of Fur & The Eviltones, but am unfamiliar with The Electric Brains.

If you happen to know Paul from DWR (which I'm guessing you do) could you suggest to him sending out press releases about new releases on the label? I get all their promos for free but never get told when there are new albums out. It's a case of me heading to the promo site, sticking in a secret code and finding out if there's anything new to download. I don't mind going out of my way to do that, but it's easy to forget when you get 50+ submissions a day anyway. An email reminder/press release/mailing list would help publicity loads. I'm sure I can't be the only one in the same boat.

I know both Pauls from DWR. I'll mention it to them, but it probably won't help. They do do a general mailout which, although much slimmed down from what it used to be, usually lists their forthcoming releases.

Perhaps I'm not added to that list. I've tried getting Paul Manchester to change a few things which will help with promotion - like sending out promos via email - and he's very polite and sounds like a decent bloke but it generally goes in one ear and out the other. But perhaps they're happy with how things are, in which case I can't complain!

Yeah I filled that in when I was on Radio. When I changed email addresses Paul said that my details for the press page login were still the same but I don't hear much...

It's no big problem. It's just a case of me remembering to check the site from time to time.

Yeah, the mailout used to be weekly and include gig listings etc, but they seem more sporadic now and have a lot less in them.

Saz, who by the looks of it sings for The Electric Brains -they're from Hebden Bridge.

Thought it'd be up your street Milchy.

I may well check them out. Quite like Empress Of Fur anyway, not so keen on The Eviltones (see Ged's very fair review of them at Blast Off, a few years back http://soundsxp.com/artman2/publish/gig ... more.shtml
