Combining folk purity with psychedelic guitar noise, their reverb-soaked music found a dedicated following with the late-2008 release of their debut album 'A Distant Voice'. After touring in the first half of 2009 and playing shows with the likes of Evangelista, Vetiver, Willard Grant Conspiracy and James Blackshaw, the band took the rest of the year out to work on new material. They return in August with their highly-anticipated second album 'Twin Feathers', preceded by the 'Helm' EP in June, both released on Little Red Rabbit Records. “If you like Grizzly Bear and that sort of thing this should be right up your street. It's gorgeous.” (Huw Stephens, BBC Radio One) http://www.myspace.com/fuzzylights HONG KONG IN THE 60s Taking their cue from old Oriental pop, classic AM radio and the baroque melancholy of groups like Blonde Redhead and Broadcast. The band play hypnotic lullabies through a filter of cheap keyboards and guitars. "A lovely understated and quite beautiful sound” (Sean O'Hagan - High Llamas) http://www.myspace.com/hongkonginthe60s http://www.hongkonginthe60s.com LILIES ON MARS Lilies on Mars is the project of Italians Lisa Masia and Marina Cristofalo. Between Hackney and Shoreditch, London, where they have been living for the past eight years, they composed, arranged, produced and mixed their first album, mastered by Bill Gautier (The Cure, Paul McCartney, Fleet Foxes). Matthew Parker (ex Sunny Day Sets Fire) then joined them on the drums, and as a three piece band they recently recorded the second LOM album in Italy. “Lilies On Mars have elaborated and expanded into a cosmos of the unknown, with tripped out melodies and droning distortion.” (Altsounds) http://www.myspace.com/liliesonmars STEFAN LARSEN (NORTHERN PORTRAIT) Copenhagen band Northern Portrait play elegant, literate guitar pop in the vein of The Smiths, Felt and Gene. Stefan will be playing some Northern Portrait songs, some other songs he’s written and a few cover versions. "Shimmery, sparkling guitars and the way the singer half croons, his voice equal parts optimism and sadness." (Russell's Reviews) http://www.myspace.com/northernportrait |
