'THAT MANCHESTER' 2007 All day Extravaganza will be co-curated this year by Concrete Records and Blowout and will feature many of the bands that played in the Late’n’Live tent at Glastonbury 2007. In fact, the event looks set to replace Dpercussion as Manchester’s only city centre indie/rock music festival. Now, in it’s second year, the festival will be presented by Channel M’s Gerry McLaughlin whose increasingly popular Wednesday to Friday night City Centre Social TV programme is quickly becoming the nation's answer to a lazy A&R man's dream and one of Channel M’s TV crews will be there to record the event. All the bands playing will be well known to gig goers around the North West and beyond and those who braved the rain, mud and the smelly portaloos of this year’s Glastonbury will particularly remember the likes of Orphan Boy, Onions, Love Minus Zero, Air Cav, Laymar and Pierre Hall and the Lead Balloons. Among the other bands playing will be Glastonbury 2004 unsigned finalists Hazah. DJ sets from Blowout, Jay Ellis, Friends of Mine, Akoustik Anarkhy's Soft Priest, Council Pop and DJ Libril will take us from lunch-time to the early drunken hours. Plenty of Guinness this year (the venue sold out in 2006) food and excellent, excellent bands at this 750 capacity Irish World Heritage Centre, Manchester.
