WAITING FOR AN ACCIDENT - debut single 19-Feb-007
UK tour 20-26 February

South London-based Dexy has been peddling his brand of twisted alt-pop songs for just over a year, ending up onstage on his own out of a restless need to create and perform.

The nearest he had to a strategy was to throw himself into as many bills that were otherwise made up of full live bands and avoid where possible the tranquility of the open mic night or acoustic bills. It set the challenge to prove that it wasn't about how loud your amps were or hiding behind a posture but being able to affect the audience with only a guitar and a voice.

Songs like 'A Puncture', 'Shrug To The Floor' and the debut single 'Waiting For An Accident' tie instant melodies to lyrics that are both bitter and loving, broken and joyous.

He is still to play a full UK tour, yet in 2006 alone he played 41 solo shows, the highlight of which came in June when he was asked to be the penultimate act at Bournemouth Live Festival - second only to Bob Dylan.

Via working with ex-Mansun front Man, Paul Draper last year, he also supported The Spinto Band in London (they all requested copies of Dexy's 3 track CD). 'A Puncture'" (on the Once Upon Another Time compilation) was one of Earwax Radio's Top Tracks of 2006 and Dexy featured in Time Out magazine's 2007 preview issue as one to watch for 2007.

Dexy releases his debut single 'Waiting For An Accident' on 19th February 2007 on Propelican Records. The release is a ltd edition split 7" double A-side single, the other side featuring Seymour Patrick (Miss Black America) under his solo guise of Open Mouth with 'Castle Keep' released courtesy of the legendary R*E*P*E*A*T

Dexy and Seymour hit the road for a joint UK tour in February:

Feb 20 Manchester Dry Bar
Feb 21 Bury St Edmunds Masons Arms
Feb 22 Exeter Cavern
Feb 23 Plymouth Hub
Feb 24 Cambridge CB2
Feb 26 London Dirty South
