So chocolate's good for you claims a Professor Oompa-Loompa... Anyone bored with the constant contradictions coming from supposedly qualified scientists? What next? Cheese n onion crisps healthier than fruit? Vodka better than water if you're suffering from piles on a Tuesday? I want an impartial obudsman to rate all 'scientific' verdicts with a likely to be contradicted tomorrow rating. Five tubs of Stork SB would be the top rating, a punnet of blueberries the lowest. Still afforded myself a chuckle at the piece referring to "chocolate offenders". Is that like a Marmite muncher? |

Vodka is always better than water, everyone knows that. |

i reckon every press agency has a department who's job it is to trawl the scientific journals and take every slightly surprising result from the most dubious and incosequential bit of student research carried out anywhere in the world, blow it up out of all proportion and state it in the paper as either science fact, or (much more usually) evidence of how wildly out of touch the "boffins in white coats" are with the real good hearted everyday people who know that science can't solve anything... i mean just yesterday "scientists said" something different! |

Some of this research is sponsored though by interested parties so don't be surprised if Cadburys had a say in that paper... |

Personally, I think the best bit of scientific news I've read is that men live longer if they stare at breasts for several minutes a day. I expect that was done in a controlled environment, where the man in question wasn't caught by the breast owner. |
