White Heat says:
Untitled Musical Project (White Heat Records single launch) + Headless (White Heat Records) + Popular Workshop
(EDIT) Nov. 7th @ Madame JoJos
It’s a glorious piece of Mcluskyesque noise that tips its head to Sonic Youth, Ikara Colt and Minor Threat before playing faster than any of them and drilling the hook into your head. Their songs are “witty, abbreviated blasts” with “Keiren's vocals developing into an eye-popping staccato” (Playlouder). This band are already receiving props from all your usual indiefied outlets (Stool Pigeon, DrownedinSound, NME) and, with the greatest respect, sound completely different to anything any of those publications are pushing right now.
Headless take their cues from (the obvious) Bikini Kill, Bratmobile, PJ Harvey, Patti Smith and (the less obvious) Tad, Black Sabbath, Mudhoney, Sonic Youth, ‘packs a noisier and far more sinister punch then any of those angry young women of the 90’s’ – Artrocker
They're releasing their new single 'Stampede/Suffer' on White Heat Records in mid October so come down and see what everyon'e talking about.
Popular Workshop
I say that this is gonna be an ear piercing hoot of a gig. I'm pretty obsessed with Popular Workshop at the moment too.
Who's up for it?
