Sorry - that is genius of Chris Morrisesque proportions.

Heh, like Fur Q - Uzi Lover

"Uzi like a metal dick in my hand
Magazine like a big testicle gland
Bitch wanna try it
I said 'keep her quiet'
Shove it up her motherfuckin' ass and fry it"

Or Blouse - Me Oh Myra

"Every time I see your picture, Myra
I have to phone my latest girlfriend and fire her
And find a prostitute that looks like you and hire her, oh..."

Genius indeed.

This isn't in the same league as what went before, although the Stranglers could turn out the odd crap lyric (and dodgy title – ‘Bring On The Nubiles?’ or ‘I Feel Like a Wog’?):

making love to/the Mersey tunnel
with a sausage/have you ever been to Liverpool? (‘London Lady’)

Don't you like the way I dance? Does it bug you?
Don't you like the cut of my clothes?
Don't you like the way I seem to enjoy it?
Stick my fingers right up your nose (‘Something Better Change’)

Forgive me, friends, but I still think the opening lines from Adrian Gurvitz's "Classic" are, in the worst lyric stakes, utterly peerless:

Got to write a classic,
Got to write it in an attic

Baby i'm an addict now
an addict for your love...

Ah, Fernando come on - that song is just beautiful - it's a Cavey classic - so he likes to write in the attic - the woman drove him insane - he was left a shambling wreck. :?

I love Pulp but 'The Birds in your Garden' lyrics are dire -

'Well the birds in your garden they all started singing this song:
"Take her now. Don't be scared, it's alright. Oh, come on, touch her inside." - I don't know what the birds are like in Sheffield but...

Oh and Wonderwall - Oasis - :? - utter twaddle - the fact that Ryan prick Adams has done a version of it to torture us with just makes me hate it even more now.

Cavey, my faith in humanity is fully restored. Well, in two of us, at least.

Couldn't agree more. The theme song of the drunken tabloid reading burberry wearing tosser. What the fuck is a wonderwall you Manc twat? Is it in the Oxford "ENGLISH" Dictionary? I think not! Just cos a member of the band you blatently copy used it in a song doesn't mean it's now part of the English language!
What's up, couldn't find anything better to rhyme with "after all"you over rated monobrowed spunk bubble? What was wrong with stinking-stool? Would have made just as much sense and would have been more apt a description of your Blair loving hello magazine pandering media whore of an ex-missus! :x

Sorry, I'm ranting again aren't I.........

I quite like Champagne Supernova though.
"Slowly walking down the hall, faster than a cannonball......" now that's a lyric!

Oh god help me, I’m having to listen to a Ben Kweller CD at work, while listening (or trying not to listen) I just heard a cringe-worthy lyric on a track called ‘make it up’ it went something like - ‘Obi-wan and Yoda will keep me safe and put a smile on my face’
