According to Paul Heaton, who is rumoured to have said that they might, if the others were interested. Norman Cook has now retired as Fatboy Slim, Dave Hemingway is losing his voice but can still bang the drums and Stan Cullimore might well be keen. You guys should sign this petition, society needs The Housemartins! http://www.petitiononline.com/hmback/petition.html |

I always thought the Christianity thing was a bit tongue-in-cheek. Heaton is the most blatant athiest going; If the bible's made up (which it is) The last laugh can't be ours, it must be His If Jesus was alive (which he's not) He'd get rid of every follower that he's got I used to love TBS, first three albums in particular, at least as far as Painting It Red. There was some daring stuff on that album. |

Back in the day, I enjoyed their stuff and even went to see 'em live. But, looking back, they were the slightly depressing death-throes of "new pop". Peely once commented on the mid-eighties, saying "I didn't even like the bands I liked". Wouldn't surprise me if he had the 'martins in mind. And these days I try not to listen to them in case I start liking them again by accident - my prejudices are very important to me, like my vices; they require careful nurturing. |
