Enjoyed the feature though. Made me pine for the pre-intraweb days when record fairs and shops were on ever corner (and we left our back doors permantently open, etc) |

I stumbled across "Reveal Records" in Derby quite by accident a few years ago.... you really don't expect to find somewhere so great in somewhere so shite; really impressed that got a mention.... worth a visit if you're ever unfortunate enough to find yourself in the Midlands... But Rounder Records in Brighton??? I lived in Brighton for years and I can recommend 10 places better than that. People only ever go there to but gig tickets otherwise, its like HMV - but with less selection... Just full of knobheads hanging around on the off-chance that Fatboy Slim might come in |

Another great Guardian lazy journalist story. Did they take a bung to include Rounder and Sister Ray? Nothing listed in Bristol, which is an amazing place for indie stuff. But Avalanche in Edinburgh is very good and I fancy going to Glasgow just for Monorail. The worst omission is Morps in Lewisham! Free tea, lots of chat, great clients (Tone, BJ and err…) |

i'd suggest that clerkenwell music is perhaps more of a pointless entry than sister ray. 4 of the 10 are within 10 minutes walk of angel station too which is odd. |

Haggle's appalling. Cantankerous old owner who can't be arsed putting his overpriced records out properly. Go in there and ask if he sells CDs and see what the weirdy beardy has to say. As for Sister Ray... Actually after putting a slag-off post on DiS about Sister Ray about 8 months ago I recently discovered that the owner of the shop had PM'd me. Basically it was quite a sweet note explaining that they didn't put ordered new very limited stock under the counter list for 15 quid 2 months later. He explained all rare stuff listed later are acquired from other local retailers on the day of release. Sounds implausible to me but who knows. |

I'm just upset that Beano's in Croydon is closing. Got most of my old stuff in there including Automatic Lover by Dee Dee Jackson - perhaps I shouldn't have mentioned that. |
