Post subject: | Swedish Indie Pop |
Another music related one from me again... dear God I really should learn. Anyway I've recently thought "fuck it... I've had enough and I'm going to get my hands on as much Swedish Indie Pop as I possibly can"... the thing is, there's so much of it what sounds right decent I'm a bit lost. Basically, I've been getting me lugs round: The Radio Dept The Legends Suburban Kids with Biblical Names Acid House Kings Sambassadeur Jeniferever The Concretes and the like. Can anyone give me another rake of great Swedish indie pop nonsence to check out? Bola? Anarchy? Ta! |

Love is All (squawky girl fronted punk pop) The Envelopes (ditto) El Perro Del Mar (blissful fragile girlie dream pop) Sambassadeur (fantastic girl indie pop single a year ago) Peter, Bjorn and John (you know. folky/powerpop) They Live By Night (Gothy pop) Raveonettes (last LP was great in a Spector-ish way) All Stars (actually Finnish but very similar) St Thomas (Norwegian I think but same applies) |

The list of bands is pretty exhaustive. Happydeadmen is the place to start then go from there. Try these links: - Definitive guide to the Swedish pop scene. - Site dedicated to Swedish music- subscribe to their RSS feed for music downloads. - English label which releases Swedish music. is great! on Swedish music - Swedish music club night in London - A club night in Brighton I wrote for the Take Your Medicine blog - Seems to be the number 1 Swedish Music blog - Frencn based Swedish Muisic blog - Blog looking at commercial Swedish music. Some of it is pretty bad! but fun none the less. |
